It’s been four years since Jeremy first walked into my life. We did everything out of order, except the falling in love part. We took that part slow…taking long walks at night after working until midnight. We got to know each other on those walks. We got engaged after being together for a year. Two months later, we found out we were pregnant. It seems like the summer months mean a lot for us. May is when we met, when we had our first child, July is when we started dating, got married…our birthdays fall in the summer as well. We celebrated our first wedding anniversary this past week at the beach. It was nothing too romantic….just a little time away from Ollie while everyone watched over him at the condo. We went to Barefoot Landing, the boardwalk, the mall…I had a nice time. My little geologist bought a geode at a shop in Barefoot and the first thing he did when we got home was break it open. I think he’s slowly reigning me in to the great wonders of the world. He loves geology, so I think when he graduates in December he’ll be over the moon to find a job and actually love what he does for a living.
Ollie had a great time at the beach. He played with Jeremy’s Uncle Bob a lot. Bob took him around the pool acting like they were a boat and Ollie loved it. The way he said Aunt Paula’s name was so cute. “Pawwww-lah” My little Ollie is so cute. I’m so blessed to have such a sweet caring soul.
Here are a few pictures from our trip. I have so many to go through, but I need to edit two weddings so I guess I’ll have to put that on the back burner!
This past week we were uprooted from our home and re-located to my dad’s house for a few days. A massive storm caused most of our state to lose power, but somehow my dad still had it! Thank God! I always worry about natural disasters and how I’d handle them with a child. The worry factor goes way up when you know your little one needs certain things and might not be able to get them. But like I said, crisis averted thanks to my dad housing my little family!
I shot a wedding reception on Sunday…luckily was able to charge my camera batteries at my dad’s house beforehand.
We got our power back on last night, but then lost power again due to a powerful storm. Haha, seriously… I have one more wedding to shoot on Saturday and then I’m beach bound with my Jeremy and Oliver. I can’t wait to see how Ollie does on the beach this year now that he is so active and able to walk. It blows my mind that he wasn’t even walking this time last year.
Today marked 4 crazy years with my Jeremy. It’s been a wild ride, but I am very grateful to have him as my husband. He’s very supportive of my photography business and he’s a great Daddy.
Happy Fourth of July!
